Simple Web Building
Monday, April 11th, 2011It is no secret that google is the largest search engine that is present on the cyber space. In fact, it is general knowledge. That is why a lot of web experts use this to their advantage and make their website more visible for people who use the search engine. To get the basics of indexing google, it is imperative that people know the mechanism by which the search engine carries out the search. Basically, google ranks the popularity of the websites to determine the order by which they appear in search results.
To do this, google indexing service makes use of software appropriately called spiders to scan and search the world wide web for new websites on cyber space. The mechanism by which they do it is simple: they look for links on more popular websites leading to less known sites. This makes sure that updates are accounted for and the popularity of a website is addressed. The rate by which these spiders look for new links is quite fast, some amounting to a few minutes or less. Then they build up a sort of popularity database from the number of links that are found leading to a particular site.
Controlling this is quite easy; all a person has to do is to make sure that a website has a big visibility on more popular websites. This is important because spiders tend to pay more attention to linkage from websites that receive a lot of traffic. Once this is maximized, growing a website becomes increasingly easy.
